Lansdowne A Nature Unexplored
Lansdowne is a small and quaint hill-station which houses the command office of famous Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army. Lansdowne is situated at altitude of around 1,706 meters on a hill, which was originally known as ‘Kaludanda’ in local language, enroute Kotdwar-Pauri road. The nearest railway station is Kotdwar at a distance of about 45 km . A unique experience for city Lansdowne dwellers.
Rifleman Gabbar Singh Rawat of Garhwal Rifles was the first Indian awarded Victoria Cross. Lansdowne is also famous for variety of birds and their sounds, a paradise for bird watchers.
